For more than four hundred years Ye Three Fyshes has entertained countless people with its fine selection of food, drink, music and events. Through its long history this beautiful Inn, situated on the bank of the river Ouse, with its exposed beams and ingle nook fireplaces, seems always to have played a major part in village life.

Until recently both young and old, locals and visitors alike, all enjoyed the happy atmosphere, and relaxed surroundings that the pub provided.
On the 15th of July, the brewery's temporary landlord told surprised patrons that he had been given less than 24 hours to close the pub and Ye Three Fyshes was closed that evening. Within a week, the windows of this Grade II listed building had been smashed, and replaced with steel shutters, leaving the small panes of broken glass scattered on the floor, the signs were taken down, and streams of visitors came, and went away, wondering what had happened to "The Fyshes".

With good management Ye Three Fyshes has proved to be an extremely viable and profitable business and as such several people and organisations have made reasonable offers to buy the pub from Greene King, but as yet, as far as we are aware Greene King have not responded positively.
The future of the pub is currently undecided, although much progress in the campaign has already been made - see the latest news section (link on left) for the latest updates.
The value of the property, and it's large car park are undoubtedly worth more if they were de-licensed and converted into residential dwellings.
Greene King have already closed both The Railway Swan and The Kings Arms, and sold them to be redeveloped into residential housing.
We are determined not to let Ye Three Fyshes be taken away from the community.
